In the beginning of 2015 FSCS-Sofia team experts visited natural localities of Pinus nigra in two Bulgarian NATURA 2000 sites Western Rhodope and Kresna-Ilindenci from which some 60 kg of pine cones were collected.

After pine cone processing the seeds will be tested, certified and stored in the forest gene bank established under the project at Lokorsko state nursery near Sofia.
